Welcome, volunteers!

Thursday night, Erin and Jordan welcomed volunteers to the history truck team.  It was a great session discussion on the truck’s vision as well as a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other better.  We are so grateful for volunteer time and sharing.

Memory Mapping with Exhibition Designer Jordan Klein gave volunteers a taste of what creating interactive place-based pieces with audiences might be like as part of the Philadelphia Public History Truck’s team.

Jordan led a memory mapping activity which helped us articulate favorite and least favorite memories about our morning commutes.  Where would your ribbon and pushpins go?  What would you mention about the sights, sounds, and smells of your route to work?

Truck volunteers Mandi and Monica at Painted Bride Art Center discussing their memory mapping choices. Monica spoke about her love of the Divine Lorraine and her wish that the historic building will be restored sometime soon.

Want to volunteer, but missed our meeting on Thursday?  No problem.  E-mail Erin for more information.
